As I have around a week and a half before I head out on my own for three weeks to work in the real world. I have various amounts of anticipation coursing through my body. As I have sent my past semester in Madrid Spain, I know how to be independent and resourceful. However, my experience in the professional working world are limited. How do I function as an adult? Do adults walk a different way or eat differently. Also how does one act professional?
However through all of the angst, I feel a legitimate amount of excitement. I can't wait to enter into the real world and use the abilities I have as a designer to enhance the architecture firm Saiber Saiber's work interface. I want to be tactful and eventually be a very helpful intern in the end.
Getting here was a legitimate struggle. I contacted so many places I have lost count. The amount of dead end phone callas and disappointing rejection emails have been abundant. However I have adapted and learned to grow as a person and overcome all of the struggles I face in my day to day existence. I have leaned that giving up is never an option and just because you are rejected many times, doesn't mean you won't find a good fit. You just have to keep trying, and falling and getting up again because hard work leads to success.
I honestly can't wait for my internship, and to work with my mentor and associates to learn about architecture . I anticipate that working in a professional setting will be a challenge, but int the end the experience I gain as a person and the expertise I am hopefully taught will make me a much more well rounded young adult. Bring it on world.
